Biography
Melissa D. Dwyer is a fluent Spanish speaking attorney originally from Chile, South America. Child of immigrant parents and first-generation college and post-graduate alum, Melissa returns to the firm after working six years as a Defense attorney in a prominent and well-respected South Florida automobile insurance and medical malpractice defense firm.
During her time in the Defense, Melissa defended insurance companies, individuals that caused automobile accidents, as well as doctors and their practices. Melissa offers our clients her perspective
and experience in dealing and negotiating with insurance companies and evaluating bodily injury
and property damage claims.
Melissa attended Cardinal Newman High School and graduated from Florida Atlantic University with her Bachelor’s Degree in Science in pre-medicine studies. Prior to her attendance and admittance into law school, Melissa volunteered extensively for various organizations including Soldier’s Angels, Wounded Warrior Project, Habitat for Humanity and the Caridad Center of Boynton Beach. Due to Melissa’s extensive volunteer work with Caridad Center, she was nominated and became the recipient of the Palm Beach County Medical Society 2008 Heroes in Medicine Award.
While attending law school at Nova Southeastern University, Shepard Broad College of Law, Melissa participated in the Nova Trial Association, which is an Honors Society organization, successfully coming in
first place during their third year in house competition. Melissa further placed first in her class during her
Ethics and Professionalism Law courses, as well as Constitutional Law course. Melissa also participated in the Personal Injury Clinic in her third year of law school wherein she had hands on training in the field of Civil Torts and Defense. Melissa received her Juris Doctorate degree from Nova Southeastern University, Shepard Broad College of Law.
Melissa is very family oriented and lives with her husband, who is an Iraq and Afghanistan Wars Veteran, her two young sons, and their dog.
Melissa now practices in the areas of personal injury, wrongful death, automobile accidents, motorcycle accidents, Uber and Lyft cases, slip/trip and falls, premises liability and products liability.
Melissa practices in both pre-suit claims and litigation. She is fully bilingual and speaks, reads, and writes in Spanish.
